Laying The Foundation
A group consisting of staff, commissioners and volunteers from the three municipalities have been meeting monthly to lay a foundation that will lead to the creation of an all volunteer organization known as Park Corps. The Park Corps will as defined in the Mission & Vision Statement (see right side column of this page) connect volunteers and resources with the needs of the community’s parks, trails and recreation programs.
This could be a individual or group of folks who have a passion for the planting trees, flowers or who want to help to construct and erect a new playground. Resources include not only volunteers but also equipment, materials and financial contributions to perpetuate the continued success of the Parks, Trails and Recreation programs our communities enjoy.
This website will serve as the conduit to inform residents of the opportunities to contribute to the needs of the Parks. It will provide information about events, meetings, needs and volunteer opportunities. Residents will be able to interact with the Park Corps Committee and the Park Corps Leadership (once established) via email (initially) then once the infrastructure is in place more venues of communication will be available.
The goal is to create the Park Corps to be a self sustaining organization, which will interact with the three community’s Park Staff through its own internal leadership to coordinate activities to support the Community’s Parks. This organization will help the communities realize their goals and level of service as a augmenting entity which otherwise can not be achieved under current economic situations.
